Shares a philosophical bent with A Scanner Darkly - the hero's ruminates about his actions - but locks it firmly inside the setpieces of a thriller. Much deviation from Blade Runner ensues, including a gripping 50 page sequence where Deckard's reality is undermined during a difficult arrest. A fascinating study in adaptation.
